When You Need Someone To Listen or Help
Sometimes we need another voice.

Sometimes the Person You Need Is Already in Your Life
A resource does not always have to be an organization.
Call the friend you have been thinking about.
Call your brother or sister, your child, your parent, your neighbor, your minister, rabbi, imam, spiritual practitioner, counselor, teacher, mentor, or someone else you trust.
You do not need to know exactly what to say.
Sometimes three words are enough:
“Can we talk?”
And if the first person doesn’t answer, try another.
If There Is Immediate Danger
If you or someone else is in immediate physical danger or experiencing a life-threatening emergency in the United States, call 911 or go to the nearest emergency department.
One More Thing
Reaching for another person is not an admission that the difficult moment has won.
It is an act of widening the view.
Sometimes another person can hold a little hope for us until we are able to hold it again ourselves.
You don’t have to carry everything alone.
